AR + VR FOR MEDICAL EDUCATION

Medical simulation,
grounded in the real world.

We’re developing augmented- and virtual-reality software that brings virtual patients into the context of physical training environments.

Our initial focus: emergency medicine and trauma-care simulation.

THE INTENDED EXPERIENCE01 / CONCEPT
Isometric concept illustration of a teal virtual patient on a dark navy hospital training bed, with a padded mattress, matching side rails, two lift supports and attached caster wheels.

VIRTUAL PATIENTS. PHYSICAL CONTEXT.A new perspective on the training space.

01 / THE CONCEPT

Two environments.
One training context.

The direction is simple: position a full-size virtual patient within a real training space, such as a physical training bed.

We’re exploring how augmented and virtual reality can connect a simulated patient with the spatial context of medical education. The physical setting provides a familiar frame of reference; the virtual layer is intended to add the patient and simulation experience.

01

The physical space

A real training environment, with a bed and the surrounding space in which learners and educators work.

02

The virtual patient

A full-size digital patient intended to be positioned in relation to that physical environment.

03

The simulation software

The AR and VR software we are developing to bring the patient and educational scenario together.

02 / WHO IT’S FOR

Developing with medical education in mind.

Our intended users are the people and organizations creating opportunities to learn through simulation.

  • Medical educators
  • Simulation centers
  • Emergency medicine training programs
  • Healthcare training organizations

03 / DEVELOPMENT

A focused starting point.
An evolving direction.

In development

We are building toward this experience. The product is not yet commercially available.

Current focus
Augmented- and virtual-reality software for medical education, initially centered on emergency medicine and trauma-care simulation.
Product direction
Connecting a full-size virtual patient with a physical training setting, and exploring how that relationship can support educational scenarios.

The concept describes our intended experience, rather than a completed set of capabilities.
